Treyarch’s cooperative Zombies mode first appeared in 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War and has since become a staple of Activision’s shooter franchise. In the meantime, Zombies enthusiasts can check out an official timeline of the series, which was posted to the official Call of Duty website today. Up to 4 players can join together to play either the campaign, multiplayer, or Zombie mode, with support for both local split-screen and online multiplayer. Treyarch will host a livestream on Monday, May 8 with more details on Zombies Chronicles. Blundell called the eight classic maps “the foundation for Zombies” and described the downloadable content as a “special kind of one-off package.”Ĭall of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies Chronicles will be released May 16, first on PlayStation 4, Blundell said. “I felt like it was more important to give people the beginnings,” Blundell said in a video posted by YouTuber JCbackfire. Blundell said that the team at Treyarch wanted to create a “loving, fan service piece” for fans who may have started playing the game’s Zombies mode more recently. Zombies Chronicles for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will feature remastered versions of eight Call of Duty Zombies maps - Nacht der Untoten, Kino der Toten, Shangri-la, Shi no Numa, Moon, Ascension, Verrückt and Origins - for modern platforms.
